To friends and colleagues, he is an esteemed surgeon, teacher, and leader. During his time at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, his expertise has helped train the next generation of surgeons and made a difference in the lives of patients with colorectal diseases.
Dr. Bailey serves as Professor in the Department of Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and leads UT Physicians Colon and Rectal Clinic. His leadership has shaped UTHealth Houston into a premier center for colorectal surgery, where our experts conduct more procedures for colorectal cancer than any other group in Texas. He has expanded the field by building one of the country’s largest and most distinguished Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency Programs, having trained experts who are today practicing across the United States.
In honor Dr. Bailey's tremendous legacy and upcoming retirement, UTHealth Houston is establishing the H. Randolph Bailey, MD, Endowment as a tribute to his remarkable service and exceptional care for patients. This endowment will forever honor Dr. Bailey’s legacy while continuing his life’s work to improve the lives of patients with colorectal diseases.
