As a leading cause of pain and disability, orthopedic conditions place a tremendous burden on the lives of our patients and their families. From broken bones and aging joints to complex diseases of the spine, these disorders can affect every facet of our working and recreational activities.
The Department of Orthopedics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth recently opened a new 5000-square-foot research facility, The Center for Orthopedic Research, Innovation, and Training (CORIT). Researchers at CORIT are committed to solving the most challenging orthopedic problems by applying the latest technologies to innovate, discover solutions, and rigorously evaluate new techniques and devices.
CORIT also serves as a venue for developing students and surgical trainees into the next generation of orthopedic specialists. Our groundbreaking work is made possible through collaborations between engineers, scientists, and our orthopedic surgeons, who work together to translate research into clinical practice.
Your support of the Center for Orthopedic Research, Innovation, and Training at UTHealth will help us create life-changing treatments and train future surgeons in the latest developments in orthopedic care.
Together, we can shape the future of orthopedics in Texas and beyond.
