At UTHealth, we are dedicated to quality patient care and the research that makes that care possible. Our experts are studying diseases, injuries, treatments, and vaccines to improve the lives of patients around the world.
The need for innovative research is especially clear as COVID-19 sweeps the globe. Through research, we can better understand the virus and the epidemiology of disease, and we can work toward developing evidence-based therapies and prevention strategies, including a safe and effective vaccine and novel therapeutics. In order to provide a cohesive, coherent research response to this pandemic, our six schools have come together to create a UTHealth-wide task force on coronavirus research, and many of our faculty have already begun their coronavirus-related studies.
