Critical Care Medicine

Critical care providers stand beside patients and families during their most challenging times. This is especially true during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic. Day in and day out, the Division of Critical Care Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth is on the front lines, translating the latest in academic discoveries into personalized care for patients across the Houston area. We are providing compassionate care to patients with COVID-19 as well as those with other critical conditions, which do not go away simply because there is a pandemic.

Even as we care for today’s patients, we are preparing for the future as we work to secure more hospital beds in case of a surge in COVID-19 cases requiring hospitalization. We are also helping forge the way for a COVID-19 treatment by participating in the investigation of an experimental therapy using convalescent plasma. In addition, we are continuing to train the next generation of health care leaders, who will stand beside our communities and serve them in future crises.

You can become part of our exciting journey by supporting our program today. Your gift provides flexible funding that can be used at a moment’s notice for important initiatives in need of immediate support. With your help, we will continue to provide standard-of-care medicine to our community, especially the critically ill. Thank you for helping us reach patients in great need.
