Never has the need for infectious disease experts been more apparent than in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are honored to be led by world-renowned clinicians and scientists in the Division of Infectious Diseases at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. Together, these experts provide excellent consultative care, pursue groundbreaking research, and train the next generation of infectious disease specialists.
The Division of Infectious Diseases has the potential to make a significant impact on the fight against COVID-19, but funding is imperative. Projects could include:
Providing in-house, high-volume, rapid testing to verify which patients are infected or have been infected to support diverse studies on COVID-19 effects, risk factors, drug treatments, and antibodies in health care workers
Implementing a protocol for compassionate use of convalescent plasma and other new therapies
Reprocessing different components of personal protective equipment to conserve supply
Developing educational materials for the community and providing greater infection control support in health care settings
Financial support is crucial in order to pursue these projects and more. Your gift provides flexible funding that can be used at a moment’s notice for the most pressing research, patient care and training needs. Thank you for considering a donation in support of our work and better health care for our community.
